Underground LaborerA laborer is responsible for the construction of all utility industry. May be required to work unpredictable hours and working outdoors in all types of weather. To perform hourly construction work specified as needed.General Accountabilities
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist Foreman/or Operator in construction work
- Take instruction from the Foreman
- Complete duties as assigned
- Operate all necessary tools related in the utility industry
- Assure that all tools are accounted for and returned to a truck
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
- Set up all road safety signs, cones and barrels before the job and assure all are accounted for at the end of every day
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
- Clean all trash from job site
- Control traffic
- Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools
- Shoring braces and other temporary structures
- Operate hand and power tools of all types
- Recognize and identify utility locates and meaning
- Always have something to do (i.e., grease equipment, clean trucks/trailer/tools, etc) when down time is necessary

Job Qualifications
- Identify material, methods and the tools involved in the field
- Identify machine and tools, their designs, uses
- Policies, procedures and strategies to promote safety
- Ability to listen to and implement directions
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, drug screen and background check
- Must have valid driver license
- Class A CDL preferred, For-Hire Endorsement required
