POSITION SUMMARY

As an Ultrasound Imaging Technician, you will deliver high-quality ultrasound imaging services while contributing to the efficient operation of the imaging department. Your role will also include assisting registered nurses and physicians during interventional procedures, managing the daily exam schedule, and ensuring compliance with the professional and ethical standards of the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Per Diem

LOCATION: Canton Potsdam Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Imaging

SCHEDULE: 7.5-hour shift

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Graduate of an accredited U.S. program and registered with ARDMS or on track for registration. Current BLS certification required.
  • Proficient in a variety of ultrasound modalities, including OB/GYN, breast, venous, arterial, abdomen, pelvis, soft tissue, transvaginal, and interventional procedures.
  • Ability to work holidays based on hospital scheduling needs.
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Committed to excellent customer service and collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • REQUIRED: Minimum one year of ultrasound experience across various exams (OB, venous, arterial, abdomen, breast, interventional). Clinical experience during training will be considered.
  • PREFERRED: 2-3 years of experience in a wide range of ultrasound examinations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct patient care by performing ultrasound examinations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of departmental equipment according to OEM guidelines, promptly reporting any issues.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures for infection control, universal precautions, and isolation protocols. Report any concerns to the departmental manager.
  • Engage in departmental performance improvement initiatives and fulfill all required training and competencies annually.
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal professional development by participating in continuing education opportunities.

1199-721 - LPN & Technical (CPH) Note: Not all per diem roles qualify for union membership.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work: Requires exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly for moving objects; involves frequent walking, standing, or squatting.

COMPENSATION:

$36.72 - $54.10 per hour

The provided pay range reflects potential compensation for a successful full-time applicant. This may be adjusted over time and may include additional pay components. Compensation is influenced by factors such as experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual obligations.
