ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Ultrasound Imaging Technician, you will perform high-quality ultrasound imaging and assist in various departmental routines. You will collaborate with the RN and physician during interventional procedures and ensure effective management of the daily schedule for ultrasound exams. You will uphold the professional and ethical standards set by the American Association of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

Gouverneur Hospital features 25 certified beds and offers services including inpatient detox, substance use disorder rehabilitation, emergency care, imaging, EKGs, physical therapy, and respiratory therapy.
POSITION DETAILS: Per Diem DEPARTMENT: Imaging Services SCHEDULE: 8-hour shifts, Variable
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited US program; ARDMS registered or registry eligible; current BLS certification required.
Proficient in performing a wide range of ultrasound scanning (e.g., OB/GYN, Breast, Venous, Arterial, Abdomen, Pelvis, Soft tissue, TV, Interventional).
Available to work holidays, take on-call shifts, and respond within 30 minutes.
Willing to travel to EJ Noble, Main Hospital, or OB Office at Lawrence Ave for coverage as needed.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Desire to embrace customer service and collaborate with healthcare providers.
REQUIRED: At least 1 year of ultrasound experience in various exams (OB, Venous, Arterial, Abdomen, Breast, Interventional), including clinical experience during training.
PREFERRED: 2-3 years of experience across a range of ultrasound exams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform direct patient care by conducting ultrasound examinations.
Regularly maintain departmental equipment by adhering to OEM guidelines and reporting any issues to the department manager and Biomed.
Follow protocols for infection control, universal precautions, and isolation procedures as necessary.
Contribute to departmental performance improvement and complete all necessary annual training and competencies.
Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role requires medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force on a constant basis, necessitating frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
COMPENSATION: $36.72 - $54.10 This pay range represents good faith compensation for this role, which may be adjusted. Factors influencing pay include experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
