Position Summary

Overview:

The Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) engineering team is guided by extensive data research and development, anchored by collaborative relationships. Our primary commitment is to provide an uninterrupted supply of high-quality water to the Fab, while driving operational improvements through new technology and procedures to enhance sustainability, reliability, resilience, and efficiency.

We are excited to announce an opening for an Ultra Pure Water Engineering Team Lead at our Austin, TX location.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's What You'll be Responsible For:

• Provide technical insight and promote a safe work environment using a process safety mindset. Monitor system performance and conduct trend analysis for operational needs.
• Use peer-reviewed quantitative and qualitative data in technical reports for financial requests, incident reports, and upper management presentations. Support Operations, Instrumentation & Maintenance teams, as well as subcontractors, with oversight and communication.
• Guide personnel, management, and executives on water project rationalization and future planning of the technical roadmap. Lead technical evaluation of process issues in the UPW plant.
• Mentor team members and provide technical development opportunities through collaborative career mapping, supporting organizational objectives. Lead innovation in new water treatment technologies.
• Advise on prioritization of daily tasks and capital investment execution. Support management reporting through data collection, consolidation, and analysis.
• Foster a team culture that promotes operational excellence, continuous learning, and empowerment.
• Advise on succession planning for UPW Engineer and Project Manager roles, as well as talent acquisition and retention.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's What You'll Bring to Samsung:

• Experience leading engineers within a facilities environment.
• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or a related field applicable to UPW systems.
• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in UPW for electronics, pharmaceuticals, or other high-tech industries.
