Tuck-In Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring Hospice patients and their families feel supported, going into the weekend. This is typically done through scheduled check-in-calls, verifying that patients have the necessary medications, supplies, and support.
The Tuck-In Volunteer will make weekly tuck in phone calls to patients or their family, usually on Thursdays or Fridays.
You will ask a set of questions to check on the needs like medications, supplies, or additional support.
Report any concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator as soon as a concerns arises.
Provide emotional support through patience and compassionate conversation.
Document each call accurately per the Volunteer Program guidelines.
Hours are flexible - with weekly calls. Company supplies the Tuck-In Program Call Form.
Good communication and listening skills.
Comfortable speaking on the phone.
Compassionate, dependable, and patient.
Ability to maintain confidentially
Training will be provided by the Volunteer Coordinator
All Volunteers are required to complete: A background check and drug screening test. This process is provided at no cost to the Volunteer.
