The Director, Health Policy & Communication will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and promote policy solutions across IRC's health priorities, including nutrition, immunization, contraception, infectious disease prevention, and water sanitation. The role emphasizes advancing impact at scale, supporting strategic business development, and leading signature policy, advocacy, and communication initiatives such as immunization influence and malnutrition programs.

Additional responsibilities include supporting the Gavi-funded REACH project, engaging with stakeholders, and synthesizing learnings to influence practice and policy. The role demands initiative, leadership across multiple projects, and reporting to the Senior Director for Health. It is an interim position during the hiring process for a permanent Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support thought leadership in health through policy analysis and strategy.
  • Develop evidence-based policy solutions in collaboration with practice leads.
  • Manage immunization advocacy efforts, including sprint planning around the Gavi Pledging Summit.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure coherence in global health efforts.
  • Lead the creation of policy and communication products to promote health initiatives.
  • Drive health unit-led strategic business development and donor relations, including overseeing advocacy grants.
  • Draft policy and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee the annual health unit report.
  • Under REACH, ensure high-quality communications, support advocacy efforts, develop learning content, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Lead HQ level REACH messaging and engagement with Gavi and other partners.
  • Supervise the REACH Communications Officer and collaborate across teams.
  • Requirements:
