Job Description
The Superintendent is responsible for the daily operation of a job site, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervises all direct labor positions on the assigned project. Manages and oversees any contracted work on the site to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Study specifications to plan procedures for construction based on timelines and staffing needs.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and monitor project schedules.
- Coordinate pre-construction meetings and manage procurement of tools and materials.
- Communicate regularly with all project stakeholders about progress and issues.
- Resolve workforce grievances and coordinate with various personnel to address construction problems.
- Inspect ongoing work for compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Manage project progress, costs, and adjust schedules as needed.
- Assist in managing labor costs and personnel movement across projects.
- Ensure company policies, safety standards, and quality standards are maintained.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction-related field or equivalent with at least 5 years of commercial construction experience.
- Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and blueprints.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
- Excellent communication, management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in office equipment and software; knowledge of CMiC preferred.
