JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside diverse industry professionals.

Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute project plans, overseeing all aspects of complex projects. Responsibilities include managing teams, planning construction sequences, and ensuring project goals align with JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values. The role requires travel and on-site presence full-time for projects across the U.S.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture, promote injury-free environment, investigate incidents, and retrain staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors, organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO for small or large project segments.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage project site care and control.
  • Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
  • Create and adjust project schedules with the Project Manager.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and communicate key information to stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, update drawings, logs, and inspection notebooks.
  • Approve unit costs, complete daily and tracking reports.
  • Evaluate progress, manage material and equipment needs.
  • Support procurement processes and select tools and equipment for self-perform operations.
  • Manage timecard approvals, ensure quality compliance, support project closeouts.
  • Participate in project pursuit, pre-planning, and review meetings.
  • Negotiate project changes, understand contract terms.
  • Recruit top talent, promote diversity and inclusion.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
  • Manage complex projects from planning to completion.
  • Provide oversight to multiple projects and teams.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, develop training content, and deliver leadership messages.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management, scheduling software, and construction technology.
  • Knowledge of trades, self-perform work, budgeting, and productivity.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
Experience
  • 12+ years construction experience, 10+ years field supervision.
  • Experience with Lean principles, large industrial, data center, or high-tech projects preferred.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
