Job Description :
Supervision of the Cardio/Pulmonary & Sleep center department. Assuring appropriate staffing levels for the patient load. Assisting in the development and maintenance of a department budget. Maintaining policies and procedures to comply with licensing and certification requirements of state and federal agencies. Maintaining scheduling for departmental staff and for out-patient procedures (i.e., treatments, EKG's, PFT's, and sleep studies). Education of departmental staff and general hospital staff as necessary regarding new or changing equipment, procedures, and medications. Daily contact with co-workers and other hospital personnel, medical staff, patients/residents, and visitors. Maintains productive working relations between sleep lab staff, Cardiopulmonary staff, nursing, including the consulting Sleep & Pulmonology Physician, and Advanced practitioners Non-invasive cardiac and respiratory modalities. Out-patient procedures (i.e. treatments, EKG's, PFT's, and sleep studies). Provide supervision of the Cardio/Pulmonary and sleep lab staff. Maintain scheduling for non-invasive cardiac and respiratory modalities and out-patient procedures (i.e., treatments, EKG's, PFT's, and sleep studies). Provide education of departmental staff and general hospital staff as necessary regarding new or changing equipment, procedures, and medications. Maintain current knowledge of the requirements of agencies and organizations that regulate and accredit hospitals, acute care services, cardio-pulmonary services, and sleep lab services. Ability to market and maintain services within the organization Other duties as assigned. General Responsibility as Required for Position Responsible for strict conformance with all applicable accreditation standards (e.g. Hospital, DNV, state, federal) health and safety rules, policies and procedures. Attends department and Hospital meetings. Participates in department and Hospital activities and in-services. Participates in Quality Improvement activities. Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and required certification/licenses.
