Title: Respiratory Therapists - Position (Contract) Location: Ruston, Louisiana Job Details: Travel Pay Rate - $33hr $1246wk Stipend Local Pay Rate: $60hr 36 Guaranteed Hours 7p-7a 8 week assignment Description of job: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders or cardiopulmonary conditions. This role involves providing therapeutic and diagnostic services under the direction of a physician, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring safe and effective patient care. Qualifications: Current BLS certifications Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities: Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with respiratory conditions. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and other respiratory treatments. Operate and maintain ventilators, airway devices, and other life-support equipment. Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop and implement patient care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory health, treatment plans, and proper equipment use. Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management and resuscitation support. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with facility and regulatory standards. Ensure proper cleaning, calibration, and operation of respiratory care equipment. Adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
