Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: New York, NY 10038

Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (includes a 60-minute break)

Contract Duration: 8 weeks

Job Summary: Seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner Therapist for a critical 59-day contract assignment at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital. The role requires specialized experience in pulmonary function testing and respiratory therapy within an ICU setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform pulmonary function tests (PFTs) including Spirometry, Plethysmography, DLCO, 6-Minute Walk Test, and Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis.
  • Provide respiratory care services including mechanical ventilation management and intubation support.
  • Apply knowledge of current mechanical ventilation standards and protocols.
  • Utilize computer applications relevant to respiratory therapy documentation and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care.
  • Adhere strictly to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid New York State Respiratory Therapist license (Registered).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pulmonary function testing in a functioning lab.
  • At least 2 years of ICU respiratory therapy experience (Preferred).
  • Certified BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited respiratory program with an A.A.S or B.S. degree.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical ventilation and intubation techniques.
  • Proven computer literacy in relevant clinical applications.
