Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Position Summary: Clinch Valley Medical Center is seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment during overnight hours. This role involves delivering respiratory care and therapeutic services to patients of all ages in an acute care hospital setting. Key Responsibilities: Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen delivery, nebulization, and chest physiotherapy Perform ventilator management and monitor patients on mechanical support systems Respond to emergency situations involving respiratory distress and initiate appropriate interventions Conduct diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas sampling and pulmonary function tests Maintain and calibrate respiratory care equipment Accurately document therapy sessions, patient assessments, and clinical observations Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective respiratory care Adhere to safety and infection control protocols in alignment with hospital policies Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program Current Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia or eligible for compact licensing Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred Minimum of 2 years experience in acute care respiratory therapy BLS and ACLS certifications required Proficiency in ventilator and airway management in adult and pediatric patient populations Strong communication and critical thinking skills Lifepoint Job ID 6-940342.
