- Assessment skills across Pediatric to Geriatric patients with competent knowledge of growth and development stages.
- Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments.
- Demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to the unit's patient population.
- Knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress.
- Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Promotes patient and family-centered care with professional, courteous, and positive interactions.
- Follows National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and patient identification.
- Knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients.
- Individualizes patient care according to procedure and anesthesia type across care continuum.
- Assesses patient reactions and understanding of procedures and instructions.
- Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and responding to condition changes.
- Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
- Supports timely completion of patient testing and evaluates Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness.
- Job Requirements
- 1 year PACU or Critical Care experience
- RN License - Required
- Unit Specific Information
- Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty
- Knowledge of surgical patient care and anesthesia procedures
- Supports Pre Admission Testing (PAT) processes
