Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in the ARU. In this role, you'll provide specialized therapeutic care to patients recovering from strokes, traumatic injuries, surgeries, and other complex medical conditions. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help patients regain the functional skills they need for daily living and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient capabilities and design individualized treatment plans
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve physical and cognitive function
- Train patients in activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and meal prep
- Monitor progress and adapt therapy plans to meet evolving patient needs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and physical/speech therapists
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of treatments and outcomes
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home exercise programs
Required Qualifications
- 🎓 Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Texas Occupational Therapist license
- Certification with NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
- Strong clinical reasoning, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills
- 🕰 1-2 years of experience in inpatient or acute rehab settings
