Registered Nurse - Wound Care

Facility: Watauga Medical Center (Appalachian Regional Healthcare System)Location: 336 Deerfield Rd, Boone, NC 28607Contract Type: Travel Assignment (13 Weeks)Start Date: September 15, 2025Specialty: Wound/Ostomy/Continence Care

Shift Schedule:

• Day Shift: 5x8-Hour (08:00 – 17:00), Weekdays Only
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays within contract period

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active RN License: North Carolina (NC) or Compact License (required at submission)
• Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • WOCN Certification (required)
  • BSN Degree (required)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care RN experience
• Travel Experience: Preferred
• EMR Proficiency: EPIC (recent experience required)

Clinical Skills Required:

• Comprehensive wound assessment (size, depth, tissue viability)
• Advanced wound care techniques:
  • Debridement, irrigation, dressing selection
  • Ostomy/continence management
• Patient/family education on wound prevention & care
• Pain management related to wound treatments
• Detailed documentation in EPIC

• Patient Population: Complex wounds, ostomies, continence issues
