Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – Radiology Associate (Travel)

Location: Long IslandCity, NY 11102Department: Radiology Diagnostic Nursing – 2nd Floor RadiologySchedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Day Shift)Duration: 13 weeks

Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse (RN) in Radiology at Mount Sinai Queens Hospital provides high-quality, safe, and compassionate nursing care to patients in the Radiology Department. This role integrates professional nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice to deliver patient-centered care and enhance the patient experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
• Assess, evaluate, and manage patient care needs using critical thinking and nursing process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and transition of care.
• Demonstrate excellent communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, coordinating supplies and staffing resources.
• Document nursing care accurately and in compliance with hospital, legal, and regulatory standards.
• Implement quality and safety practices to maintain a safe environment for patients.
• Participate in professional development activities and contribute to nursing committees and initiatives.
• Role model Mount Sinai's Relationship Centered Care principles including Admission Welcome, Bedside shift reports, and Purposeful Hourly Rounding.
• Support process improvement, nursing research, and evidence-based practice activities.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years as an RN, preferably with ambulatory outpatient & radiation safety experience
  • 1 year travel nursing experience preferred (not required for Per Diem)
  • EPIC experience highly preferred
• Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience or active enrollment in BSN program considered

Skills:

• Strong clinical nursing skills in a radiology or related setting
• Ability to manage patient care using modified primary nursing model
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with hospital safety and quality standards
• Ability to coordinate and lead charge nurse responsibilities
