Weekly Breakdown:

Weekly Gross: $2,834.00 Per Week

On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week

Stipend(Non-Taxable): $2,114.00 Per Week

Job Summary : The Clinical Nurse in the Radiology Department is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who delivers safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients. This role incorporates nursing theory, research, and clinical expertise to manage patients undergoing radiological procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

• Deliver high-quality patient care using the Relationship Centered Care model.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluate care needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate care plans.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and health promotion.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in and manage all aspects of the nursing care delivery model.

Patient Experience

• Model behaviors consistent with Mount Sinai's values and care standards.
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Lead patient-centered communication efforts, including bedside reporting and purposeful rounding.
• Support evidence-based practices that improve the patient's perception of care.

Quality and Safety

• Practice safe, efficient care with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Escalate safety issues or practice deviations using proper protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement projects, nursing research, and peer reviews.

Operations

• Take on charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Manage unit resources and escalate shortages appropriately.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation.

Professional Development

• Support and participate in professional learning and shared governance.
• Demonstrate ethical practice and professional image.
• Continue personal clinical competency and encourage lifelong learning.

Required Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
• Certifications:
  • NYS Registered Nurse License (Active)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Minimum 2 years of ambulatory and radiation safety experience
  • 1 year of travel RN experience (for travel roles only)
  • ICU or Emergency Department (ED) experience preferred
  • EPIC EHR experience highly preferred
