Weekly Breakdown:
Weekly Gross: $2,834.00 Per Week
On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $2,114.00 Per Week
Job Summary : The Clinical Nurse in the Radiology Department is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) who delivers safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients. This role incorporates nursing theory, research, and clinical expertise to manage patients undergoing radiological procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Deliver high-quality patient care using the Relationship Centered Care model.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluate care needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and evaluate care plans.
- Educate patients and families on care plans and health promotion.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including patients, families, and team members.
- Participate in and manage all aspects of the nursing care delivery model.
Patient Experience
- Model behaviors consistent with Mount Sinai's values and care standards.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
- Lead patient-centered communication efforts, including bedside reporting and purposeful rounding.
- Support evidence-based practices that improve the patient's perception of care.
Quality and Safety
- Practice safe, efficient care with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Escalate safety issues or practice deviations using proper protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement projects, nursing research, and peer reviews.
Operations
- Take on charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Manage unit resources and escalate shortages appropriately.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation.
Professional Development
- Support and participate in professional learning and shared governance.
- Demonstrate ethical practice and professional image.
- Continue personal clinical competency and encourage lifelong learning.
Required Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
- Certifications:
- NYS Registered Nurse License (Active)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of ambulatory and radiation safety experience
- 1 year of travel RN experience (for travel roles only)
- ICU or Emergency Department (ED) experience preferred
- EPIC EHR experience highly preferred
