Job Description

UHS Binghamton General Hospital is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate travel assignment. The RN will provide direct patient care on the Psych Krembs 3 unit, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality behavioral health care. Candidates should be flexible to rotate between day, evening, and night shifts and must be comfortable working every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor therapeutic and side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and mental health professionals in treatment planning.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR system.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license (New York or compact eligible).
• Minimum 2 years of recent psychiatric/behavioral health experience required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
• Flexibility to work rotational shifts and weekends.

Contract Details

• Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
• Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension
