TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Pediatrics RN in Bismarck, North Dakota, 58501! Pay Information $2,182 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights EOW Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: 2 years of Peds/MS nursing experience, must be able to titrate drips Description: Department: Pediatric RN. Number of Beds: 7. Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2-3. Common diagnoses/types of patients include routine pediatrics, stable medical-surgical patients aged 0-18 years, intermediate pediatric care, and medical-surgical overflow. Conditions managed include respiratory issues, diabetes, seizures, failure to thrive, and bilirubin levels in newborns. Experience or skills needed include 2 years of pediatric nursing experience, preferably in PICU. RNs are required to titrate drips, including acetaminophen, Keppra, and insulin. There is no Charge Nurse on each shift; both nurses on the unit work collaboratively. Patient care technicians are available only when the census is higher than 5. A pediatrician is in-house during the day; on-call at night. Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula. Remote telemetry monitoring is utilized, but RNs are not required to read and interpret strips. Shifts can be self-scheduled based on seniority, with block scheduling considered to meet unit needs. Weekend requirement is every other week or every third weekend. Holiday requirement is two per year. There is no call or standby requirement. RNs may float to assist in maternity/newborn nursery or NICU when needed. Scrubs can be of any color and are not provided. Unit characteristics include a locked environment, a close-knit team, and a themed decor aimed at pediatric patients. Attributes for success on this unit include good communication skills and the ability to work independently. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront, with restrictions on additional requests during the contract period. Charting system utilized is EPIC. BSN is not required. Trauma Level: 2.
