Contract Type: 13 Weeks (Travel or Temp Assignment)
Shift: Days/Nights – 12-hour shifts (weekends & holidays as needed)
Patient Ratio: Typically 1:3–1:4
Patient Population: Adults & geriatrics with acute/chronic conditions requiring close monitoring
Required:
Active RN License (state-specific, unrestricted)
BLS Certification (AHA)
Preferred:
ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN (Progressive Care Certified Nurse)
Minimum 1–2 years of recent PCU/Step-Down or Telemetry experience
Strong background in cardiac, respiratory, neuro, or post-surgical patient management
Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and titration of drips preferred
Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring intermediate/step-down level monitoring.
Monitor patients with cardiac, respiratory, neuro, and post-op complications.
Perform and interpret cardiac monitoring, EKGs, and telemetry strips.
Administer and titrate IV medications, cardiac drips, and oxygen therapy.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document in EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, RT, and interdisciplinary teams for treatment planning.
Respond to codes, rapid response situations, and patient emergencies.
Provide patient and family education on condition management and discharge care.
Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.

Guaranteed Hours: Typically 36 per week (facility-dependent)

Travelers: First-time travelers often accepted with solid PCU background
Housing: May be provided for travel assignments
