Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in relevant nursing experience License: In-state RN license with required certifications in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Solid neuro experience Ability to manage cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips Experience with BiPAP and unstable strokes Description: We are seeking a dedicated RN for a mixed acuity unit. The unit provides care for medical patients needing progressive levels of care. Patients may include those with oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary issues. Registered Nurses will take care of medical surgical patients and some PCU level patients. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6 for medical surgical patients and 1:3-4 for PCU patients. Care delivery will include managing cardiac drips without titration and vasoactive drips without titration. Daily responsibilities will include accessing ports, administering blood products, and managing central lines. Nurses will demonstrate competency in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing chemotherapy patients. Daily census on the unit ranges from 29 to 31 patients. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy and respiratory services. All candidates must be able to float as needed within the facility. Additionally, candidates must be available to work two out of three major holidays.
