ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and telemetry experience are required. Candidates must have Level 1 or 2 trauma experience. We will consider first-time travelers with Level 1 trauma experience. Experience with trauma and general surgery post-operative patients is essential. Candidates must have experience with abdominal surgeries. Experience with tracheostomies and flaps is necessary. Candidates should be strong with foley catheters, surgical drains, surgical oncology, wound vacs, ostomy care, ports, PICC lines, TPN, and lipids. Local travelers within 75 miles are not accepted. Interdisciplinary support available includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Patient demographics primarily consist of adults, with a daily census of approximately 32 patients. The unit has 32 rooms and beds. Patient diagnoses include colorectal surgery patients, head and neck surgery patients, surgical oncology, and various abdominal surgeries. The facility requires compliance with BLS, ACLS, EKG onboarding exams, NIHSS, Math exams, Med/Pharmacology exams, Progressive Care competency exams, and skills assessments. Candidates must float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed.
