Position Details: Unit: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit / Recovery Room) Shift: Days – 10 Hour Shifts 07:00 AM – 05:00 PM OR 07:30 AM – 05:30 PM Shift Length: 10 Hours Call Requirement: 10-12 call shifts per month (self-scheduled in 2-month blocks) 30-minute response time required 1 full weekend of call coverage per month Holidays required for call only Scheduled Hours: 40 hours/week Unit Information: Beds: 7 PACU bays & 8 stepdown bays (typically 5 used) Patient Ratios: Phase 1: 1:2 (1:1 for pediatrics) Phase 2: Variable Common Cases: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia Repairs Lumpectomy, Mastectomy, Colectomy, Hysterectomy T&A, BMT, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy Bunionectomy, occasional ortho cases, EGD, Colonoscopy ICU Patients: Rarely recover in PACU; mostly return to ICU Charge Nurse: Yes Nurse Aides: No Scrub Color: Navy Blue (Not Provided) Tele Monitoring: Yes Vent Management: Rarely Support Services: In-house Hospitalist/Intensivist 24/7 RT and Pharmacy No IV Team
