5 days/week | 8-hour shifts | On-call required

The PACU RN provides safe, high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. This includes monitoring vital signs, managing drips, recovering intubated patients, educating patients/families, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe transitions of care.

• Provide direct patient care in the PACU using evidence-based nursing practices.
• Monitor, assess, and manage post-op patients, including those on medicated drips.
• Recover and manage intubated patients following surgery.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members for patient care planning.
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and ongoing care needs.
• Document care accurately in EPIC (preferred).
• Participate in unit operations including throughput and charge nurse duties as assigned.
• Uphold quality, safety, and patient experience standards.

• Current NYS RN License
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PACU/post-op preferred)
• 2 years of experience with post-op management and medicated drips
• Travel RN experience preferred (not required for per diem)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• BSN preferred (Associate's degree accepted with experience/BSN enrollment)

• 6-bed PACU unit
• Average census: 6 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1–2
