Travel PACU RN – 10H DayShift: 10-hour Days Location: College Station/Bryan, TX (Facility float required)Contract Length: 12 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 40/weekCall Requirement: 10–12 days/month (self-scheduled, 30-minute response time), including 1 full weekend/monthCertifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALSExperience Required:

• Recent PACU experience (within the past year)
• Pediatric PACU and Phase 2 recovery experience strongly preferred
• Pre-op experience a plus

Unit Details:

• Unit Type: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Recovery Room
• Beds: 7 PACU bays + 8 step-down bays (typically use 5 for step-down)
• Common Case Types:
  • General Surgery: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia repair
  • Women's Health: Lumpectomy, Mastectomy, Hysterectomy
  • ENT: T&A, BMT
  • Ortho: Bunionectomy
  • GI: EGD, Colonoscopy
  • Endocrine: Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy
• Ratios: Phase 1: 1:2 (adults), 1:1 (pediatrics); Phase 2 varies
• Floating: Required between College Station and Bryan (16 minutes apart)
• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided

Facility & Support Info:

• EMR: SIS & Meditech
• Tele/Vents: Telemetry required; vents rarely used
• ICU Recovery: Rare – most ICU patients return directly to ICU
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Call only; 1 weekend/month & holidays as needed
• Charting System: MEDHOST – Enterprise
