🔍 Position Overview:

The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) responsible for providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care to neonatal patients and their families, using evidence-based practices and the Relationship Centered Care model.

🧑‍⚕️ Key Responsibilities:🧬 Patient Care:

• Utilize nursing theory and the nursing process for care delivery.
• Assess, evaluate, and prioritize patient care needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide education and coaching to patients and caregivers.
• Effectively manage assignments and resources.

• Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and clear communication.
• Engage in Mount Sinai's Patient Experience best practices:
  • Bedside shift report
  • Hourly rounding
  • Discharge wrap-up
  • Admission welcome
• Respect cultural values and personal preferences.
• Resolve patient concerns and escalate when needed.

🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active NYS RN License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
  • Including mechanical ventilation management
• EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
• 1 year of travel nursing experience (only required for travel positions)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience overall

🎓 Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Associate Degree in Nursing accepted only if:
  • Candidate has relevant experience
  • OR is actively enrolled in a BSN program
