Two years of prior Telemetry experience required. EPIC charting experience required. 100% nicotine-free facility. Description: This position is for a 20-bed unit providing intensive care to adult patients who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, strokes, epilepsy, and other head traumas. Patients do not go to recovery room post-operative; they return to the unit for recovery. The unit is multi-care level, and nurses should be prepared to care for up to five Med Surg patients. EVDs are placed at the bedside. There are GRID patients who have EEG leads implanted in the brain to detect seizures, and these patients can be on the unit for up to three weeks. All nurses must manage drips on all floors. First-time travelers are not accepted without two years of experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center. Weekends consist of four shifts out of eight possible shifts in a four-week period. Weekend shifts include Saturday and Sunday days and Friday and Saturday nights. Scrubs are mandatory, with specific colors and attire required. This facility operates a nicotine-free environment, and any suspected nicotine use may lead to contract termination. RNs must attend a mandatory charting class unless otherwise directed by the unit manager. Travelers are required to submit proof of license within 48 hours. Requested time off must be included at the time of submission. All contracts must end on a Sunday, and the work week is defined from Monday to Sunday.
