Travel RN – Med/Surg with Telemetry – 12H Nights

Unit: MedSurg Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)Schedule:

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat nights)
• First to float to sister unitsContract Length: 13 weeks (Guaranteed Hours: 36/weekCharting System: CernerLicense to Submit: YesTrauma Level: Level 1

Certifications Required

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

Pre-Screening Requirements

• Auto-offer after clinical prescreen
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience (within past 6 months)
• Must pass:
  • Dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)

  • Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (pass/fail)

Unit Details

• Bed Count: 32
• Ratios: 1:4 for both days and nights
• Patient Types:
  • 80% Surgical, 20% Oncology
  • Includes Ortho (Joint Commission Certified Knee/Hip Program), urological, abdominal (Whipple), women's surgeries (non-OBGyn)
• Common Tele Drips: Must be able to titrate down Amiodarone & Cardizem
• Telemetry: GE Monitors, read by central monitoring tech
• Charge Nurse: Yes, does not take patients
• Support Staff:
  • PCTs during day shift
  • 1 PCT or Task RN at night

Additional Details

• Scrub Color: Navy
• Orientation: 2 floor-specific shifts
• Phone System: Spectralink phones (with call light connection)
• IV/RT/Pharmacy Support:
  • No IV team, but SWAT nurse available
  • RT and Pharmacy 24/7
  • ICU pharmacist support during the day
• Vents: Not applicable on this unit
• Hospitalist Coverage: Must call physician (not always on-site)

Weekend & Holiday Requirements

• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Nights = Friday/Saturday
• Must work 1 major and 1 minor holiday during contract
