Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Bloomington, Indiana.

• Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical-surgical conditions, maintaining a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, ensuring safe and effective interventions and timely documentation in Cerner EMR.
• Administer medications, including insulin, anticoagulants, IV therapies, and manage cardiac drips (non-titration), per physician orders and facility protocols.
• Perform skilled nursing procedures such as central/PICC line care, wound vacs, surgical drain management, tracheostomy care, CBI, and care for patients with chest tubes, ports, and feeding tubes.
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and escalate changes in condition using rapid response protocols.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients recovering from orthopedic, neuro, thoracic, and general surgical procedures.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, radiology, case management, and social services.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, medication adherence, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
• Maintain infection control standards and isolation precautions for patients with communicable diseases or compromised immunity.
• Float to other med/surg or overflow units or nearby IU Health facilities as needed.

Charting System: Experience with CernerFlu vaccine required
