Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Johnson City, New York.

Position Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, patient-centered, and compassionate care by protecting, promoting, and optimizing health, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering. This role involves the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for individuals and families. The RN upholds all professional standards, adheres to the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Serve as primary or accountable nurse as designated.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease management, and care plans.
• Safely administer medications in accordance with UHS policy.
• Ensure productivity and effective use of staffing, supplies, and resources.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Participate in unit council meetings, shared governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and complete all mandatory education.
• Support the orientation and training of new staff and students.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence-based practices into patient care.

Required Skills & Experience:

• RN experience: 6 months to 3 years (minimum); 5+ years preferred.
• Strong skills in collaboration, communication, critical thinking, planning, and problem-solving.
• Ability to maintain high quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Previous acute care or oncology nursing experience preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.

Education & Licensure:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Current NYS RN License (required).
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or ARC – required).
• ACLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification (required).
