Position Overview:

MVHS Inc. is seeking experienced Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown RNs for a 13-week night shift travel contract. This is a high-acuity medical/surgical unit with a focus on stroke care, requiring well-rounded clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to float within the hospital.

Certifications Required:

• Active New York RN License (must be verified on NURSYS)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS (Stroke Scale Certification)

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of recent MS Stroke Stepdown experience
• Documented travel nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system required

Submission Requirements:

• Updated resume with clear documentation of experience in MS Stroke Stepdown
• 2 recent RN Charge/Manager references in Med/Surg
• Skills Checklist specific to Med/Surg
• Driver's license (address must match submission demographics)
• NURSYS license verification (active NY license + any other active RN licenses)
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at time of submission

Skills & Competencies:

• Stroke care and neuro assessment skills
• Experience with isolation protocols and high-acuity med/surg patients
• Use of IV pumps, NG tubes, feeding tubes
• Excellent patient documentation and care coordination
• Comfortable floating within the hospital

• Unit: 7th Floor – Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown
• Number of Beds: 64
• Patient Demographics: Adult
• Common Diagnoses: Stroke, AMS, renal failure, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, pulmonary issues, general med/surg
• Specialty Equipment: IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Floating: Required
• On-call: Not required
• Local Candidates: Accepted (within 75 miles at local rate)
