This is a travel nurse position. Candidates must live 50 or more miles from the facility to be considered for this position. This is a key leadership role that requires the ability to make sound decisions, support staff development, and maintain high standards of patient safety and dignity.Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing day-to-day clinical operations across multiple long-term care units
• Providing guidance and supervision to nursing staff to ensure quality patient care
• Acting as the primary decision-maker in the absence of the Director of Nursing and Administrator during off-shift hours
• Teaching, coaching, and supporting staff in alignment with best practices and regulatory standards
• Collaborating with department leaders and interdisciplinary teams to resolve concerns and improve workflow
• Maintaining effective communication and documentation regarding unit needs and care delivery
• Ensuring compliance with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations and internal standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York State
• Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care environment
• Prior supervisory experience across multiple units is required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing; BSN preferred
• BLS certification through AHA or RQI (required)
• CPI certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Knowledge of NYSDOH requirements and electronic documentation systems
