Position: RN – Family Birth Center (L&D / Recovery / Postpartum)Shift: 12-hour Days (7 AM – 7 PM approx.)Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

• Unit Type: Family Birth Center (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
• Beds: 3 rooms (may cross over to Med-Surg if unit is full)
• Annual Births: ~150–175 births per year
• Ratios: 1:1 or up to 1:4 depending on acuity
• Special Notes:
  • Could be the only L&D nurse on site – backup L&D nurse is on call

  • During C-sections, RN will be expected to care for the baby with support from RT and anesthesia

• Certifications (all required):
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • ACLS
  • Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of L&D/RP experience

• Charge Nurse: Yes
• Nurse Aides: No
• RT: 24/7
• Pharmacy: Limited (not 24/7)
• IV Team: No

• EMR: Cerner
• Telemetry: Not used
• Ventilators: Not used

• Shifts: 12-hour days, every other weekend required
• Holidays: Rotate with perm staff
• Orientation: At least 2 days per unit floated to (based on comfort & experience)

• Must float to Med-Surg for tasking support when needed
