Pay Information $2,884 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Certifications required Description: Unit Notes: Updated on 2/18/2025. Floating requirements: RNs will float to Med-Surg approximately 80% of the time to take a full patient assignment if there are no laboring patients. The facility is in a rural area and does not have many births. Department details: Labor and Delivery has 3 beds, postpartum has 3 beds, and the C-Section OR is located on the first floor. Birth statistics: Approximately 30 births per year. Common diagnoses include active labor, elective inductions, and low-risk pregnancies (37 weeks and above). Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP. Drips used include Pitocin and Magnesium (only for send-outs). RNs will titrate drips according to policy. Staffing and support: No charge nurse; collaboration among RN staff. No nurse aides or surgical techs available. OB/Neonatologist availability: Responds within 15 minutes but is not in-house 24/7. Anesthesia is also available with a 15-minute response time. Respiratory therapy equipment includes PRN nasal cannula during labor only. Monitoring staff: No tele or monitoring techs; EFM system uses paper charting. Scheduling notes: Self-scheduling with manager available from 7 AM to 7 PM to ensure balance. Block scheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Weekend requirements: Every other weekend, potentially every third weekend. Holiday requirements: Every other holiday. Call/standby requirements: May be placed on call due to low census on additional shifts. Uniform policy: Any scrub color or pattern is acceptable; closed-toe shoes are required.
