TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Bronx, New York, 10457! Pay Information $2,721 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP required Must-Have: Minimum of 3 years experience Description: Assess patients' clinical conditions, recognizing and interpreting serious situations. Prioritize and decide on proper action. Formulate nursing diagnoses to provide care for patients across all ages, including obstetrical patients. Develop a plan of care for individual patients by interviewing patient and family members. Review the patient's health record and determine the type of care required, including discharge planning. The plan of care reflects any special cultural, religious, physical, and psychosocial needs identified. It contains expected outcomes individualized to the patient or situation. Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations when the physician is not immediately available. Take resuscitative measures in case of cardiac or respiratory arrest. Operate and monitor emergency care equipment, such as infusion pumps and cardiac monitors. Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed, including medications and IV therapy. Plan, provide, and document the education of patients and families in preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures. Record observations, nursing interventions, and status of coordinated activities between nursing and other disciplines. Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes and update the plan of care accordingly. Document specific health care requirements for patients. Prepare written assignments matching staff skills to patient care requirements. Plan and develop care delivery and implementation of the plan. Coordinate the documentation of care. Assume oversight for patient care administered by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel. Provide technical guidance and direction to other nursing staff. Share responsibilities for sustaining adequate supplies and equipment on the unit. Maintain knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice. Promote professional growth for self and others. Demonstrate positive role model and leadership qualities. Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing. Maintain positive personal work habits and interpersonal skills.
