Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP Must-Have: Must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation with a score of 90% or above. Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Labor and Delivery unit. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients during antepartum, labor, postpartum, and to newborns. Common interventions include the administration of various drips such as Pitocin, Insulin, fluids, and antibiotics. The nurse will work with standard equipment including IV pumps. There is a charge nurse available on each shift to support the team. Weekend coverage is required every third weekend. Floating to MedSurg may be helpful but is not mandatory. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment. Charting is done using the EPIC system. Candidates with a minimum of one year of labor and delivery experience are encouraged to apply. The nurse will be part of a team with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2.
