First-timers accepted. Weekends required, typically every other weekend. Travelers will float based on the unit's needs. All required certifications are hard stop requirements. Description: The role involves working in a very busy unit. Travelers will need to quickly adapt and get up to speed. This is a Level III Obstetrical Unit. Orientation consists of three days during the first week. Core staff on this unit is relatively inexperienced, so travelers should have strong competencies. Daily census includes labors, postpartum, and antepartum patients. The unit provides support services such as respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient age groups include neonates and adults. Key responsibilities include labor and delivery, postpartum care, and antepartum management. The ideal candidate should have experience in facilities that handle a significant number of deliveries. It is essential to have competencies in various procedures and patient care techniques related to obstetrical nursing. Travelers are expected to float to different units within their skill set. All travelers will be required to assist with routine patient care tasks. Candidates must be prepared to engage in high-risk perinatal care and support families during labor and delivery. Additional trainings or assessments may be required annually. Previous charge experience is an asset.
