Registered Nurses will be responsible for patient assessments, ensuring proper positioning, and conducting procedural time-outs. Aseptic and sterile techniques must be utilized throughout all procedures. The role includes managing central line blood draws, device stabilization, and dressing changes. Flushing and patency assessments are critical components of the job. The nurse will assess insertion sites and utilize ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access as needed. Knowledge of complications such as infections, hematoma, and air embolism is required. The role also emphasizes the treatment of extravasation and monitoring for signs of sepsis or vascular damage. Weekend shifts will be required on a rotating basis. Travelers may float between nearby facilities as necessary. References from supervisory roles in a comparable specialty are required. Modules are completed pre-start and annually, with average completion time indicated.
