Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night and Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of critical care/ICU experience required. License: New York license required in hand. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Critical care/ICU experience, ACLS certification, day/night rotation availability, and every other weekend rotation. Description: Registered nurses will work in a 6-bed medical ICU in a rural setting. The patient acuity level is slightly less acute compared to higher-acuity settings. RNs will be responsible for caring for critically ill patients who require vasopressors, insulin drips, BiPAP support, and long-term mechanical ventilation. Management of post-operative patients, including post-operative vascular patients, will also be required. The unit provides intensive care to a mix of medical and surgical patients. Staff will be trained to manage ventilators, arterial lines, and titrate medicated drips. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Special equipment utilized includes ventilators, wound vacs, arterial lines, and central lines. Patient ratios will be 3:1 during both day and night shifts. Every other weekend coverage will be required. Candidates will need to float as necessary.
