Specialty: ICU RN. Shift: 3x12 hour shift from 19:00 to 07:00. Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are not accepted. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient ratios during the day and night are 2-3. Float requirement: yes. Emergency medications and infection prevention knowledge are necessary. Skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care are essential. Experience in starting IVs and obtaining 12-lead EKGs is required. Management of dysrhythmias and thorough understanding of IV insulin protocols are important. Candidates will need knowledge of procedural sedation administration. Experience in surgical wounds and thermoregulation is necessary. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy and respiratory services. Unit census varies with an average daily count of 7 patients. Strong background in ICU and medical settings preferred. Assessment and management of critically ill patients are pivotal responsibilities.
