Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: New York license required in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic charting experience Description: Must have NY license in hand. Specialty: ICU RN. Shift: 3x12 from 19:00 to 07:30. Locals not accepted, must be more than 75 miles away. First-time travelers accepted. Previous charge experience preferred. Patient ratio experience: 2-3. Required charting system experience with Epic. Preferred background in community hospital. Travel experience required. Skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care/management. Need expertise in continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medications. Knowledge in infection prevention and interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential. Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and IV insulin protocols is required. Management of dysrhythmias and proficiency in medical intensive care unit tasks are necessary. Obtain 12 lead EKG and perform phlebotomy. PICC line management and procedural sedation administration skills needed. Ability to start IVs and manage surgical wounds with drains/Wound Vac is essential. Familiarity with thermoregulation (hypothermia/hyperthermia) and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips is necessary. Staffing ratios require 2 patients per nurse during day, night, and weekend shifts. Candidates will float as needed. Candidates will work with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Daily census may reach up to 7 patients in a 9-bed unit. Special equipment and specific patient diagnoses will be detailed during onboarding.
