Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Night alternating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required – at least 2 years of Emergency Department experience and 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience. License: Current state license required (can be pending). Certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC Must-Have: - General Emergency Department experience – Combined Adult/Pediatric - Interpretation and Management of dysrhythmias Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse to work in the Emergency Room with the ability to float to Medical-Surgical units. The nurse will be required to float to multiple campuses. Weekend availability is required, averaging 6 weekends per 13-week contract. There is no on-call requirement. Patient ratios for days are 1:4 and nights are 1:6. An additional year of experience in Medical-Surgical units is preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse must float within their scope to meet facility needs, which includes floating to Medical-Surgical. Candidates must be comfortable working with a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census and patient diagnoses include pneumonia, CHF, cellulitis, cardiac arrhythmia, GI bleed, bowel obstruction, electrolyte imbalance, diabetes mellitus, general surgery, postpartum, and newborn care. Additional skills required include triage and the management of dysrhythmias. The facility is a critical access hospital with nurses cross-trained to work in various departments. Staffing consists of one charge nurse, one float nurse, and two floor nurses each shift, with scheduled CNA coverage. Holiday work is required as needed. Candidates must complete all required immunizations and verification checks as part of the hiring process.
