Job Title: Endoscopy Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday-Friday Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in endoscopy License: Current Registered Nurse license in Illinois Certifications: Current CPR/BLS Card Must-Have: - Proficient in the following procedures: colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, PEG tube placement, bronchoscopy, esophageal stent placement, and pain procedures - Able to perform moderate sedation - Experienced with EPIC charting - Capable of admitting and discharging patients in the perioperative area Description: The Endoscopy Nurse will provide quality care in the endoscopy unit. Responsibilities include assessing patients to determine their mental, physical, and spiritual needs. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Providing explanations and instructions to patients and their responsible parties is essential. The position requires using clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition. Contributing to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict with professional communication skills is expected. Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care must be met. Participation in continuing education is required. Maintaining complete and accurate medical records is essential. The role also includes being on call for up to two weeknights and two weekend days, with a 45-minute callback time. Floating to other facilities within the organization may be necessary when needed.
