Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN Endoscopy for a travel nursing job in Rochester, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Endoscopy Discipline: RN Duration: 17 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care for individuals undergoing gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in accordance with SMH Level 3 standards, NYS nursing regulations, and AORN guidelines. Assess patients pre-procedure, address concerns, and answer questions regarding the process, risks, and recovery. Monitor and interpret patient vital signs before, during, and after procedures, initiating interventions as necessary. Administer moderate sedation and other prescribed medications per provider orders, ensuring safe patient responses. Assist physicians during procedures, anticipating needs for instruments, equipment, and supplies. Prepare procedure rooms by setting up, testing, and arranging necessary tools, equipment, and medications. Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic instruments and maintain infection control protocols. Provide post-procedure recovery care, including monitoring sedation recovery, pain control, and patient stability. Administer IV fluids and drips as ordered, ensuring accurate documentation of intake and output. Educate patients and families regarding discharge instructions, medication use, and follow-up care. Complete all required documentation in patient records, including pre- and post-procedure assessments, intra-procedure notes, and discharge summaries. Participate in on-call rotations for overnight and weekend emergencies as scheduled. Maintain competency in telemetry interpretation for patient monitoring during procedures and recovery.
