Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN CVOR for a travel nursing job in Redding, California.
Job Description & Requirements

- Evaluate drug orders for appropriateness, safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness based on patient-specific factors (age, renal/hepatic function, allergies, drug interactions).
- Monitor and adjust drug therapy in collaboration with prescribers, using protocols or collaborative practice agreements.
- Provide drug information and education to physicians, nurses, patients, and caregivers.
- Participate in Code Blue and other emergency response activities.
- Perform and document clinical interventions to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Verify and process medication orders through computer order entry systems.
- Prepare and dispense medications, sterile IV admixtures, parenteral nutrition solutions, chemotherapy, and compounded products using aseptic techniques.
- Ensure accurate controlled substances management and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee decentralized and centralized pharmacy operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of medications.
- Adhere to infection control standards and aseptic preparation guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement programs, including Drug Utilization Evaluations, Adverse Drug Reaction reporting, and Medication Use Variance interventions.
- Ensure compliance with DNV standards, Washington State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and hospital policies.
- Educate healthcare providers on drug therapy protocols, new medications, and best practices.
- Provide orientation and training to pharmacy staff, students, and other healthcare team members.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care..
