Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour days Hours per Shift: Varying shifts (0530-1600, 0630-1700, 0730-1800) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab License: Active RN license in a compact state Certifications: Active AHA BLS and ACLS Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience - Graduation from an NLN or AACN accredited nursing program strongly preferred - Must note in submission if clinician has ever worked with the facility Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting. Responsibilities include administering and monitoring conscious sedation during procedures. The nurse will circulate in a sterile environment and assist with various procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCIs, temporary and permanent pacemakers, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms. The unit has 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms, with an average of 30 patients per day. The nurse will be part of a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in the unit. The position requires the use of equipment such as Pyxis, Philips monitoring system, Epic, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection system. Orientation will consist of 4-6 shifts, focusing on charting and physician equipment preferences. The Registered Nurse will be on the mandate list to fill any vacant call that is not picked up. The nurse will be required to take on-call duty one week per week and one call weekend every 3-4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time. The position may require holiday call duty during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
