We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cath Lab RN to join a leading healthcare facility located in the heart of eastern Kentucky. This role plays a vital part in providing direct, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:Assist physicians and cardiovascular technologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures including angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, and pacemaker/ICD implants.
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures—assessing vital signs, administering medications, and intervening in emergencies as needed.
Maintain sterile technique and ensure accurate setup and breakdown of the procedure room and equipment.
Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and discharge instructions.
Document nursing care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records.
Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Remain current with Cath Lab protocols, clinical policies, and safety regulations.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency cases when necessary.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky
BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be AHA-approved)
Minimum 1 year of critical care, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience
Prior Cath Lab experience preferred but not required
Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond quickly in high-stress situations
Familiarity with invasive cardiac procedures, IV sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring
BSN or advanced nursing degree
RCIS, CCRN, or other cardiac-related certifications
Experience with STEMI protocols and interventional cardiology procedures
