Travel Nurse RN - Cath Lab - $18 to $50 per hour in Pikeville, KY - LER Healthcare : Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cath Lab RN to join a leading healthcare facility located in the heart of eastern Kentucky. This role plays a vital part in providing direct, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

• Assist physicians and cardiovascular technologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures including angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, and pacemaker/ICD implants.

• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures—assessing vital signs, administering medications, and intervening in emergencies as needed.

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure accurate setup and breakdown of the procedure room and equipment.

• Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and discharge instructions.

• Document nursing care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records.

• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, radiologic technologists, and fellow nurses to ensure positive patient outcomes.

• Remain current with Cath Lab protocols, clinical policies, and safety regulations.

• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency cases when necessary.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky

• BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be AHA-approved)

• Minimum 1 year of critical care, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience

• Prior Cath Lab experience preferred but not required

• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond quickly in high-stress situations

• Familiarity with invasive cardiac procedures, IV sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring

• BSN or advanced nursing degree

• RCIS, CCRN, or other cardiac-related certifications

• Experience with STEMI protocols and interventional cardiology procedures
