**Job Description: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)**We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our esteemed Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with various psychiatric conditions in a supportive and therapeutic environment.**Key Responsibilities:**- Deliver patient-centered nursing care while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.- Participate in therapeutic group activities, assisting in topics such as coping skills, self-expression, and recreational therapy.- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, meal tray management, and personal laundry.- Monitor patient vital signs and document patient behavior and progress accurately.- Engage in verbal de-escalation techniques and respond effectively to situations where physical intervention may be necessary.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health technicians, to provide comprehensive care.- Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support treatment plans.**Qualifications:**- Active New York RN license, or proof of application with applied date, is required at the time of submission.- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a registered nurse, preferably in psychiatric or mental health settings.- Certification in BLS and CPI/PMCS or MOAB is mandatory.- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical records systems within the last two years is required.- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend and holiday requirements.**Unit Details:**- The unit includes 18 private adult inpatient beds with an average daily census of 11 patients and a Child & Adolescent unit with 12 beds.- Staffing consists of registered nurses, mental health technicians, and unit clerks to ensure effective patient care.- The patient population includes all psychiatric diagnoses, with a focus on ages 6-18 for child patients and 18 and above for adults.**Work Environment:**- Fast-paced inpatient setting requiring strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.- Orientation period provided to acclimate to unit protocols and procedures.Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to mental health excellence. ---At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
