We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Psych Emergency Room team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients experiencing emotional disturbances while working within a rotating schedule including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and on-call duties.

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and their relatives to gather comprehensive case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care tailored to the needs of patients.
• Make nursing diagnoses regarding the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend appropriate treatment options.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design effective treatment plans for clients.
• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor patient reactions.
• Facilitate access to further medical attention when necessary.
• Assist clients in understanding their emotional disturbances and the importance of treatment.
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients.
• Measure and document vital signs and pain treatment procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records, documenting patient information, treatments, immunizations, and lab results.
• Perform administrative tasks, including filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes on the computer system.
• Provide courteous and high-quality service to patients and the public by responding to service requests or making appropriate referrals.

• New York RN License (required)
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY, required)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience

This position requires a 3x12 rotating schedule, inclusive of days, evenings, nights, holidays, on-call, and callback responsibilities as needed by the unit.
