**Job Title: Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric Unit****Job Description:**We are currently seeking a dedicated Level 1 Registered Nurse (RN) to join our psychiatric nursing team for a 17-week contract starting on September 15th. The ideal candidate will work on a rotating shift schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and charge duties as needed per unit requirements.**Key Responsibilities:**- Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and their families to gather case histories.- Plan and implement nursing care based on individual patient needs.- Make nursing diagnoses regarding the medical and emotional status of patients and recommend appropriate treatment options.- Collaborate with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff to design and implement effective treatment plans.- Administer medications, including psychotropic drugs, while monitoring and noting patient reactions.- Arrange additional medical attention when necessary.- Assist patients in understanding their emotional disturbances and the necessity of treatment.- Maintain a safe and secure environment for both staff and patients.- Assess vital signs and ensure appropriate pain management interventions are in place.- Document all patient information accurately on medical charts and follow physicians' written orders.- Uphold patient confidentiality and maintain thorough documentation of treatments, immunizations, and laboratory results in accordance with standard medical recordkeeping practices.- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.- Provide high-quality service to patients and the public through responsive interactions and appropriate referrals.**Requirements:**- Current New York RN License (Required)- Minimum two years of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting (Required)- BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (Required)- CPI Certification (Required)**Behavioral Characteristics:**- Strong communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient care.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of healthcare professionals.- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in clinical environments.At ARMStaffing we take care of our nurses!
